data-chartData from Waggle nodes are securely pushed to a cloud-based server, which we call the “beehive”.  A scalable Cassandra database stores all the live data from the nodes, as well as deployment metadata such as location coordinates.

The Waggle project supplies the basic platform and infrastructure, but how to process and analyze the data can be customized by each of the science teams.  We provide the infrastructure, you provide the analysis.  For some scientists, sites like might be a good place to integrate and explore data sets.  Other groups might have their own analysis code.  Or maybe you want to test some ideas for data analysis in the cloud using NSF’s Chameleon cloud testbed.  However you want to use Waggle-based data, the key is that the infrastructure is open and easy to adapt to your science.
